Title: Tape 869 Windy U Video Richard Oliver finishing method
Post by: Walter Hicks on September 30, 2015, 01:23:45 PM
I am trying to find more information on the Finishing Method used by Richard Oliver as done on tape 869 Windy U video.

It looks like Auto Clear is used to seal wood, and attach glass cloth , not sure what is done from there . Can anyone clarify this

with specific products and steps? It would be really appreciated as I have enough base coat /clear coat paint to last me until

I am gone!!!! I like the Idea of Auto Clear to seal and attach glass cloth , using auto paint stuff from the get go.

Thanks for your help in adavance.

My main question is do you use intercoat clear to attach the glass cloth or two part ( with catalyst ) to seal the wood and attach the
glass cloth. I am assuming once you get the glass cloth on then you use auto primer to fill then basecoat clear coat.

#1. What clear to put on bare wood?

#2  What clear to put on glass cloth? How many coats of clear to fill?

The video seems to indicate clear with Catalyst , does this sand well???
