Title: Spraying panel lines

I usually just paint the model with no lines but this next one is going to get the full panel line treatment - question is: if I'm going to spray final clear with 2 part automotive stuff, do I still need to apply dust coats of dope on lines before 2 part clear ? or just shoot the clear and the lines won't run/smear ?

Gene,
I strongly suggest not to skip the previous two coats of dope over the panel lines. In this way you'll be sure that nothing BAD will happen.
I use an airbrush to do the job (only over the lines).

Listen to Claudio. He's a smart guy. Usually, I'll do a section of panel lines then dust some clear over them with an airbrush. Just to lock them down. This prevents smearing them if you happen to put your hand there. It also prevents the 2 part urethane topcoat from causing them to move (wavy) or bead (which can happen when the topcoat softens the underlying paint). But mainly, it just keeps you from messing up and putting a finger in the middle of them.
