Do not try this at home! (or anywhere else)
« on: March 29, 2018, 11:53:39 AM »
I like Mod Poge adhesive for adhering tissue, film, carbon veil, etc.  It is kind of thick. I thought I'd try an experiment to thin it without adding more water and maybe making drying quicker.  :!

So I mixed up some Mod Poge with denatured alcohol.  Not a good plan. It actually ended up a thick gel.  I tried doing a test sample covering, and it did work, but it was worse for brushing than the original glue.  HB~>

Plus, the brush was a b%$^h to clean.

I guess water is still the thinning liquid to use.  :(
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Hi John,
Try Elmer’s glue stick, it worked for me and way better than the Mod Poge.
Later,
Mikey

I recently tried water based polyurethane and really like that for tissue and silkspan.

Worked good over foam easier than glue or wall paper paste.

Hey Larry,

I know...just use Klasskote clear to activate the Klasskote red - you get a terrific gloss that way!
