Has anyone tried Rustoleum Lacquer?
The clear Lacquer has a clear top.  I was wondering how it's fuel proofness is?

Now there's another Rustoleum Product called Painter's Touch, anyone tried that?

Larry that is one great looking bird! Can you elaborate on what that is,WS,engine size, manufacturer, cost,etc. H^^

That is the Mark 2 version of the Sky Sport.  It is kitted by RSM.  180 sq.in. wing, AP Wasp for power, weight about 10 ounces.  The kit comes complete with tank, bellcrank, horn, and wheels!

It will do a clean pattern on 48' lines with no problem.  Took 1st and 2nd at this year's Knight's Joust, and 1st and 3rd at last year's Palmer Memorial.  I happened to fly a Skyfire at this year's Palmer, and the other plane was a copy of my 1/2A Magician.

This one has carbon veil on the fuselage, Polyspan on the wings and silkspan covering on the tail surfaces.  Painter's choice over nitrate dope.  My own decals on inkjet type paper with an overcoat of clear Lustercoat.

"Painters Touch" is the " house brand" of Rust-oleum, sold at chain stores like Lowes and Home depot. It is usually about 1/2 the price of "Real" Rust-oleum spray cans, and in my experience appears to be the same paint.  I have used both on the same plane and they seemed to spray / flow out / dry exactly the same.

I suspect they are the same paint with different labels, I doubt they would set up a completely different line to make a lower cost product, and the label say "Manufactured by ROC ( Rust Oleum Corp)", not Imported or Distributed by ROC.

Here's my stunter, the yellow is "Painters Touch" over butyrate. The trim is a laquer sold for RC cars, and it's overcoated with clear butyrate. I think that one needs to be careful as the weight seems to build rather fast.

I beleive the lighter colors do add more weight.  Making the new planes solid white I can still see some under coating even after two coats of white.  Plane looks great John.  Having fun,  DOC Holliday
