Title: Repair polyspan
Post by: Harold Brewer on October 08, 2019, 12:24:56 PM
I was shrinking my newly applied polyspan covering today.  I got a bit over zealous with the heat gun and melted some of the covering, creating several small holes on one side.  What is the best method for repair??

Best regards,

Brew

Depends a lot on the size of the holes. If it's just a few (or a bunch) of small ones you haven't hurt the integrity of the polyspan enough to worry about so you can simply dope and overlay some light or medium silkspan. It's much easier to cover/sand/feather in and "hide" the silkspan than another layer of polyspan. If it's a large area, just cut out the entire bay and redo that section with the Polyspan, overlapping the perimeter by a comfortable margin.

Thanks for the advice.  I went ahead and cut out the covering on the open bay and applied a polyspan patch.  Results can out great!
