Reporting on Varathane

FYI
I sprayed Varathane from a rattle can over Brodak water slide decals/Brodak Crystal Clear butyrate. It worked fine.
I will let you know how well it works after it gets hit with fuel and oil.

Just wondering, why didn't you just spray Brodak crystal clear since that's what you were already using?

I use Varathane because I can't afford dope, nor can my wife breath the vapours for medical reasons. I use it straight out of the can (or spray can, but that's expensive) and have never had a failure. I have found it to be absolutely fuel proof.

I don't have a spray gun. So I don't spray except if I use a rattle can. Also, dope WILL eat the decals.
Point being Varathane does NOT seem to eat the decals or cause a problem when sprayed over dope.

Dope won't "eat" the decals, I've done it many times. Light coats at first then more aggressive. I guess the point is moot if you don't have spray equipment.
Varathane is a good product also, I've used it for other projects.

It does turn yellow pretty badly when exposed to the sun.
