Dear all
Could someone help me ?
I want to cover a profile fuselage with monokote .
I know that this is not used in US but here in Brazil a lot of peopleo use this .
I have a big problem with curved surfaces

If you can find it, get a copy of Faye Stilley's book on covering with Monocoat.
The short story is to cut the 'coat extra-sized, and use a heat gun to stretch it around corners. You wear a leather glove on your off hand (left for most of us), hold the heat gun in your right, and kind of let the 'coat stretch in one direction while it's shrinking in the other.
The real trick if you pinch pennies is to leave LOTS of extra 'coat to hang on to.

Dane, thanks for posting the videos. I certainly learned something this evening! I've been using monokote since it came out (with a 30 year lay-off inserted) and have never been able to get compound curves to look as good as yours. That's awesome!

Sooooo....... start by outlining the wing saddle with approx 3-6mm of monokote all the way around. Taper the back. This could create a visible "bump" under the final covering. It will make your covering easier to apply without making a gap though. Do this with a 6mm strip for the first airplane. Then you'll see how the final kote can pull away.
Use an extra rib as a template to cut the wing saddle out of your monokote piece. Apply the fuse side piece, inboard side first. This will help a lot worth fuel proofing.

This particular plane, I two toned the fuse. What I said in the post above applies either way. I use double edge shaving razors to trim monokote. Makes it easier to cut straight lines., in my opinion.

Oh! Very important with fuselage covering. Use the lowest temp you can get away with around the wing. Get that to stick first. Make sure it's stuck down good. Then move on. If you don't start there, the monokote will pull away and make gaps. Use low heat. You want it to stick, not shrink. Turn the heat up around the perimeter. Pull hard. You want to use the heat to stretch, not shrink. Do not overheat the material.

Guil, I misread your question. I'm sorry.
Slide the wing through and mark where it sits, centered and square in fuse. Pull the wing back out. Measure the fuse width, and measure your marks. Make new marks that are 1/64 or 1/32 (easier) smaller on each side. Cut the covering away in this center strip. Be very careful not to cut into the wing, and use a new blade.
Do basically the same thing for the stab.

After the cut, apply making tape to the wing, covering the monokote at both sides of the cut. Slide the wing back in, but leave the bare wood exposed. Apply your glue, wood glue or epoxy to the bare wood center. Put the glue mostly close to the fuse, that way when you slide it in, the fuse will push the glue over the center strip. Slide the fuse in place and clean the excess glue very well.
Let the assembly hang horizontally by the wing, with supports on both sides of the wing. Using a builders square, check the the fuse is straight in the wing, both vertically and horizontally. If it's good, and the joint is clean, remove the making tape before the glue dries.
