Yes you can!  

Usually people put dye in the dope they apply to Polyspan, but what do you do if you want to do SLC over Polyspan as discussed in this forum?

AHA! I have the answer. rockler.com sells Transtint dyes in a wide variety of colors. You put about ten drops into 2 oz of denatured alcohol and spray the Polyspan and it is colored!! I expect that adding it to dope over that would kick up the intensity, or for my next project, the top film will be transparent colored ultralight parkflyer type film.

I expect to see really intense transparent glow in the sky!  

OBTW, this should work just fine on raw balsa, silkspan or Japanese tissue. I expect it is like spray Magic Marker.
