Title: Pannel Lines on Monocoat
Post by: Ken Culbertson on March 28, 2018, 11:41:40 AM
I have searched site and youtube with no luck using every word combination I can think of to answer two questions:

1 - what do you use to put panel lines on monocoat
2 - what clear coat do you seal it with.

Thanks

Sooooo, I've done thin cut panel lines with black, grey or white monokote, cut with the monokote pinstriper. A long time ago, I learned they don't exactly hold up forever. So I sprayed over them with Topflite lusterkote crystal clear. They held up great, except if you need to touch up or repair. Then shrinkage is a factor. Otherwise, those Topflite panel line pens with Topflite lusterkote crystal clear worked really good.

Thanks - Tower still has the pens but nobody appears to have lustercote clear.  Will anything else work?

Currently, I'm liking the clear spray max 2k. I'll be using that on a couple projects soon. I really love these guys for finishing products. They do monokote colors in paint also.

I've used pens for Mylar on Monokote to do ink lines and shot catalyzed polyurethane on it. Seems to work OK.
