Title: Painting Ultracote
Post by: James Mills on June 11, 2015, 07:02:33 PM
I'm finishing a new plane and am using Ultracote.  I know Rustoleum will work for trim on the wing but I am wondering if the "car" paint (sold at O'Reiliy's) like Dupli-Color would work and maybe have a faster dry time?

Thanks,
James

I have had good results using Duplicolor enamel. Applies just like Rustoleum using a very, very thin coat of primer under the paint. But, I've never tried the lacquer because it requires a fuel proof clear coat. Way too much work for a film covering. At least for me. Make sure you get the enamel and you should have no problem.
