Title: Painting Nightmare Update
Post by: Dwayne on September 22, 2010, 06:27:38 PM
Well after everthing I went through on this thing I thought I'd post some pics of the finished project. It's a Dick Sarpolus Challenger but I used a Cardinal wing to give it a USA 1 look, power is a piped OS 32 F and the final weight is 47 oz. so this should be a very good flying model. As I said in the other post this is the first time I've sprayed the entire model and I have to say it turned out very sa-weet and is by far the nicest looking model I've ever built and I learned allot about paint compatability...lol But Dear lord in heaven I never want to go through that ever again!!!!!!!! n1  n1  n1  <=  <=  <=    LL~  LL~  LL~  LL~  LL~
Thanks guys
Dwayne

WOW Dwayne.  I love that paint scheme. In fact I just printed two copies of it for future use on a future stunter. I just love stealing great paint schemes.  Looks like a real fun job of masking.  y1 H^^

Thank you and I hope it turns out just as nice for you.

I have so many different brands and types of spray cans on my shelf now it would be interesting just to shoot em all on something and see what happens...lol

Not sure I'd call it a nightmare anymore, looks more like a mid-summer afternoon's dream to me. Real nice! Don't give up on the dope finishes, you will learn to love them, honest.

Dwayne,  The plane looks great to me.  Want another one to practice on?   I will do the top coat of clear so as not to upset some people. VD~ VD~  Really I do not docomplicated paints schemes like some people.  LL~ LL~ Usually a base color with AMA numbers.   H^^
