Title: Paint mask?
Post by: Paul Taylor on March 25, 2013, 05:14:13 PM
Would it be advisable to leave paint mask on for a few days.
Reason I am asking is i would like to have my plane all masked off and ready to paint when the wind, rain and snow is gone.

Thanks in advance!

Depends alot on the "adhesion" of the tape you are using. Some are a real chore to get off after they set in and
"dry" so to speak. If you are using "low" adhesion, I would think no longer than 2-3 days. JMHO.

Paul,

If you're using professional grade mask material, like the mask material I provide, it doesn't matter. I would just make sure all the edges are laying down properly before I did the shoot or the brushwork.

Yes, there's no set rule that says masks have to be sprayed. I've brushed paint in masks before, especially with thin lettering.
