Gentlemen,
How long should one wait after spraying on a light coat of SIG Nitrate clear dope before spraying on a color KlassKote of color?
The first coat is a primer,
sanded and
another light primer coat.
Then a 75% thinned coat of SIG Nitrate clear dope?
Plan to spray a color KlassKote.
How long should I wait.
Thanks for your answers.

Wait at least until you cannot smell it.

I waited 2-3 weeks, but it was easy because the weather was bad anyway.

Yeah, I agree. Minimum 2-3 weeks. But of course, the longer you can wait, the better. Just don't try to rush it or you'll be sorry.

Why the nitrate clear over the primer if you are going to use Klass-Kote epoxy over it? Epoxy will go over primer just fine with good adhesion; the nitrate won't do anything for the finish & introduces possible intercoat adhesion problems due partly to the shrinkage of the dope film as it continues to dry (& dope will continue to dry & leach out plasticizers over the life of the finish.) Just wondering.
