Title: newbie dope question ,may be hard to explain
Post by: Russ Danneman on December 30, 2009, 05:47:39 PM
so, as i have said before this is first dope job.(brodak p40 arc) going pretty good i think or thought. got 5 coats on silkspan and noticed where the trailing edge joins actual wing silkspan has nice airbubble about size of two quarters. i guess it has shrunk up and pulled loose ? should i leave alone, slice and try to stick back down ? once it's painted it wont be as noticeable but not sure if will cause problem down the road? thanks for patience and input, russ

When I get this sort of thing, I usually slice it with a razor than slide in some CA to tack it back down. A bit of sanding and some more dope and move on. this works when the bubble doesn't include any open bay areas.

As Randy says, correct the problem now, not later.  Don't ask me how I know.
