Title: "new" covering material?

Some time ago I read something about using medical exam table covering paper to cover wings etc.

My Dr. gave me a roll so I'm interested in trying it.

Have any of you tried it and how did it work out?

  Just search on the forums for "Docspan", "exam table paper" Tidi, and you should come up with about 5 hours worth of reading, at a minimum!

Mr. Jim,
In short, you want the type known "everyday crepe." It has a very similar porosity and finish as typical paper of days gone by. It shrinks well in BOTH DIRECTIONS. My experience is with 1/2A models...I noted a heavily crowned wing will need some extra stringers between the LE and the "crest of the airfoil" across the wing to prevent pulling down between the ribs.
Tidi part number is #981004 (22" wide roll) or Tidi #981002 (18" roll). McKessen is another brand. Tidi and McKessen used to have the same last 4 digits in their respective line).
Key words should have "every day crepe" in the description regardless of vender. Be careful with high-shrink dope on smaller surfaces...pm your email address if you want pictures showing what I mean. Or find my Brown-Novitnik DH Mosquito build on RCGroups or CoxEngineForum...same username as I use here.

I strongly recommend building a cheesy 4 or five rib "wing section" to test on before you dedicate time on this stuff on your model.

If excessive shrink is a problem,spray with common rubbing alchol instead of water. Water content is low and it dries quickly.  H^^
