Title: Getting a flat finish with dope
Post by: Tim Wescott on February 18, 2023, 10:28:51 PM
I've got some stuff I want to paint flat black, with Sig dope.  I had some flatting agent on order from Sig (I think it was thinner, but I'm not sure -- all I remember is "stuff to make dope flat").  I doubt that will get delivered in this iteration of the universe.

Is there a way to do this?

I’ve made gloss a satin by sanding with 400 then 609 and stopping.  But never a flat.

How embarrassing -- it turns out I had some after all.

Oh well -- better than thinking I had some when I didn't!
