Title: Flat dope finish for warbirds question
Post by: Jim Oliver on January 31, 2010, 08:46:42 AM
I want a flat finish on a couple of profile warbirds that I am painting (all Sig dope).  I see that Sig has a version of Lite Coat called "Flat Coat"------anybody have experience with it?  I will have to brush it on, if that matters.

Any better/easier answers to the question?  I had hoped that a final sanding of the clear coats without polishing would give what I wanted but that ain't gonna get it; just doesn't look right. :'(

Thanks,
Jim

I was wondering the same thing the other day.  Hopefully someone has used this Sig Brand and could
help us out.  Thanks Bryan H^^

Paul W. told me once that the matt olive drab (SIG) finish on the #1 B-17 Stunter weighed more, because of the flattener (whatever it was). So, the #2 B-17 Stunter (9th in the WC in France) was done glossy. Beautiful work! I was lucky enough to see both fly!!!  #^ Steve
