Is it alright to use Fast' N Final for sanding sealer under Brodak dope.

   And just what is Fast and Final? Never heard of it. Check out the thread I started with the chemical comparability chart. If you can find what "family " it belongs to, you can see what will go over it. if it's a urethane product of any kind then the answer would be no, I think.

If you're careful, yes. Dope will eat it, but if you use a few VERY LIGHT coats over it first it's fine. If you have an airbrush, use that.

It is a Dap Product.  Someone I know uses it. I'm not sure if I want to.  I forgot to order sealer with my last order to Brodak.  Ughh.  Now I have to pay shipping again, unless....Fast'N Final.  It's found at Home Depot, Ace, Walmart and others.

Reviews on the Walmart website are all over the place.  Here's one:

This product is typically used to fill small dings and dents. Are considering smearing it over the entire model like a coat of paint? If so, don't. You'll probably be sorry.
You don't really need the sanding sealer, anyway. A couple good coats of dope pretty much does the same job.

   I checked out the link, and it's just vinyl spackling compound, This is what Allen Brickhaus would use under thinned finish cure epoxy for his rattle can finishing system. This it with water into a slurry solution, brush it on, then sand off when dry.Not sure how dope would go over that but worth a test on some sheet balsa. Then you could flex it a bit when finished to see how flexible it is. At this point,add some talcum powder or corn starch to some dope for a filler, sealer coat. That is what they did in the old days.
   This makes me think of something I have never seen asked about and that is Parks pigmented sealer/primer shellac.  I think it can be thinned with alcohol. Used as a filler/sealer before staining wood work and such. What the heck, people have used lots of other stuff!

Allen,
If this is a ship you want to have for sometime finishing bare wood is hard to do. There are ways,but they are generally heavy for CL Stunt (work for RC). These include auto prime, polyester resin, finishing epoxy resin, epoxy glue, CA (this one is the lightest of the bunch mentioned, good for small part). The simple old tissue and dope works well to cover the grain and give a good base for paint/primer. Lightest filler would be clear dope with some of Randy Smith!s zinc steroid. Add a few drops of gray and it makes a fine substrate.

One thing about Brodak orders. You can call in the order and ask them ship regular mail, takes a little longer but is lots cheaper.
