F&#D@CS Lusterkote!
« on: June 11, 2011, 05:47:12 PM »
I have a profile that has been sitting, never flown for yet.  It is almost a year old.  Today put my AMA number on is a shot a little lusterkote gloss clear over the stick on numbers.  The fuse was rustoleum, and was well cured.  I though what the heck, shoot that too and get a some more fuel resistance.  The rear looks fine but up front , where it went on a little heavy it is wrinkle city.  What the heck?

I am half tempted to sand it off and fix the paint, it is only a profile so I think I am going ot leave it.  I will never purchase lusterkote again.

It always is a good idea to test over a small area first to avoid problems with compatibility. It's been my experience, that Lusterkote will go over dope and laquer finishes with few problems, Dope will even go over lusterkote, but apparently it won't go over enamel.

I did test it.  I think it will work if you go real lightly.  The whole thing is not a mess, just were it went on real wet.

I hear it will even bubble latex paint if you use a wet coat.

In the future, I will bite the bullet and get out the spray gear and the Klass Kote.
