Title: elevator assembly, hinges and finishing
Post by: jim gilmore on April 03, 2009, 08:13:30 AM
I'm wondering on a model like the akromaster when do you install the cloth hinges in relationship to finishing. Do I cover the elevator with silkspan first or after I install the hinges? I'm not expecting a great paint job but want it to look like I at least tried.

Install the hinges prior to covering with silkspan , It helps hide them better.
Line the visible edges up and make sure the hinges are cut the same length.
