As I have had this plane for some time and the finish was going to pot I decided to redo it. With the help of an Ex-Acto blade, sandpaper and some patience this where I am at. I am going to do Mono-Kote for the finish.

Huge amount of work there, Doc! Was it all paper? To get it that clean is a real accomplishment.

Base coat was Mod-Podge to adhere the DOC paper. Then mylar was put on. Surface rubbed down and the NAPA auto primer was sprayed. Sanded and then wiped down with Rustoleun grey for finish. The DOC paper is what is being sanded where it was still adhered. More sanding to go. D>K

The DOC Special has a new finish. Sky Blue and Pink. Now to get the engine running and back in it. Once that is done it will wait for nice weather and some one to fly it. D>K

I must be losing it or the gremlins are doing a terrific job on me. After cleaning the OS engine and muffler I replaced the cheezy phillips bolts with Socket heads. Got it back in the plane and now have a 1/4 inch gap between the nose and the spinner. Guess I I am going to slice some balsa to the nose and add some Monokote. n~
