        What is the right Dap spackling to use for grain filling?

I use DAP Dry-Dex. Goes on pink and when dry it turns white. Easy to sand I don't use it as filet material, I use Super-fil for that. Dry-Dex is very light.

I agree with Larry.  FWI, I've never had good results from the light weight spackling product.  Does not flow or stick well.

I have had to add water to the Dry-Dex also. Ain't no big deal. I like the stuff 'cause it's easy to sand and I'm lazy.
