Hello Pilots
Can someone point me in the right direction for certified military paint for my balsa airplanes?
And when dry can i put clear dope over it?
Thank You Bryan

You might practice on a scrap peice first. I usually use automotive two part clear for the final coats on my planes. When using dope I usually wait a couple of weeks before the clear coats. DOC Holliday

Hi Bryan,
What do you mean by "certified military paint"? Are you talking about military colors, or the type (not the brand) of paint used by the military, or dope in military colors, or ...??? Let me know and I can at least try to point you in the right direction.

Hello Bill
Im Looking for scale model paints like RLM 70/71/65 on a Stuka. The only paints ive seen so far
are the small bottles of testors and such at Tower Hobbies. Im new at scale modeling so i dont have
all the info yet but im learning. Do you know of a place i can order certified paint for scale models.?
Or do i just match the paint chips the best i can with acrylic paints from a artist shop.?
Thanks Bryan

OK, I found my NASA Scale Resource Guide and it is helping me out. But i am still stumped
by the paints.
I guess you look at the cross contaminents artical then choose a type of paint available today
and try to match up the colors the best you can to the available paint chip charts like Bob
Bankas documentation packs. Know wonder there is not many scale modelers out there ,
this stuff is hard..... HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~>
But im not giving up. Bryan

Bryan, it is only as hard as you make it. A dear friend that has passed on many years ago spent 10 years completing a scale plane from the time he started until its first flight. I guess it was worth it as he took first in it's first NATS competition. How many remember Gerry Deneau? Have fun

Hello Pilots
I found that NelsonHobby has great paints in 1/2 pints and Quarts. Military colors available.
I guess Klass Kote epoxy has Military colors now too. So my searching is over for Scale
Model paints. Bryan ;D
