ModPoge technique question
« on: October 02, 2017, 08:19:30 PM »
Has anyone tried applying ModPoge to the structure, then thinned stuff through Polyspan to adhere it as if you were doing a classic dope covering job?

It doesn't work.   Still use the iron to adhere the covering(silk-span, poly-span and examining table paper).

Thanks, Doc! I was afraid of that.  My problem with the iron is that the ModPoge sqouges out through the Polyspan and sticks to the iron. Doesn't want to clean up, either. Then it starts dragging the material around instead of sticking it down.  HB~> A mess!

Larry, you might look into "Miracle Muck" for this application.
It's a heat activated glue that framers use for pictures, ect.
I haven't used it, but the description sounds reasonably promising.

There is also Lamin-All which is a heat adhesive similar to "Miracle Muck"

I've used Balsarite with great success. http://www.coverite.com/accys/covr2500.html

Paint the surface with Balsarite, then stick the polyspan down with an iron just like putting on monokote.

Yes Balsarite works great. Illegal in the People’s Democratic Republic of California.  HB~>
