Questions on dope paint cure time.
« on: February 08, 2020, 01:32:43 PM »
How long should I wait after putting on a color before applying trim/fineline tape? And how long should I wait before pulling the same tape off? I'm concerned with the underlying coat lifting with the tape.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

3 weeks minimum.

Maybe less to pull off the tape -- I'd have it off as soon as the dope has tacked off (test by touching the paint on the tape, of course).

I don’t wait, don’t use a hair dryer, and pull the tape straight out. Sometimes it pulls off the color, but usually it pulls off everything down to bare wood. I think I need a checklist.
