Title: Brodak Decals
Post by: David Ruff on March 08, 2018, 10:22:05 AM
Reading the instructions on Brodak decals.
First they are water slide decals.
The first thing the instructions tell me is that they are fuel proof.
It also says you can apply clear dope over them depending on how much thinner you use.
Then it tells me you have to apply five wet coats of clear to seal them.
Somehow those instructions do not make sense to me.
If they are fuel proof, why can't I just apply them and forget about them????

Any experience here with this?

I have used the Brodak water slide decals without putting any thing over them.   Just make sure the surface is clean where the decals will be placed.   Another thing is after they are on just don't let raw fuel sit on them.    H^^

I always spray some clear over them, if for no other reason but to ensure the edges don't lift. And it helps too if I'm a little overly aggressive with my cleaning rag.

Ty

Is there anything in a rattle can that can be sprayed over the decals.  And the finish is butyrate.

I know there is lots of discussion about what clear can be applied over butyrate.
