lacquer retarder
« on: September 24, 2013, 10:00:23 AM »

Folks I am looking for some lacquer retarder that will work in dope. I have used Startex brand in the past, and it works, have you used another brand, if so where did you get it, and how did you like it?

           Thanks a lot

Gil,

For both model airplanes & full-scale airplanes I use Randolph Products butyrate retarder.  I have also used with equally good results Sig retarder.  I'm curious why you are looking for another brand...

Bill B the reason that I used Startex is availability, and the fact that it works in dope as well as lacquer o paints.
I've not used Sig brand, but if I did it would have to be ordered. Startex was picked up in a paint store in the Baton Rouge, La. area and I don't live too far away, so it is somewhat local.

  Thanks for the help...
