Title: Aero Gloss Dope Curtiss Blue #61 Color Match
Post by: Shawn Lenci on October 27, 2013, 09:37:31 AM
When I was a kid one of the first airplanes my Dad and I built was a Goldberg Cosmic Wind with a Fox 35.  We painted it with Aero Gloss Curtiss Blue Dope with a silver cheek cowl.  Since Aero Gloss is no longer available, I still have a small can of Curtiss Blue, doe anyone know if there is a matching color of Sig, Brodak, Randolph, or Certified dope available in Curtiss Blue or a formula for mixing various color to do a color match?  I guess I could also have a sample scanned and have it tinted at an auto paint supply house.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Shawn Lenci

Aerogloss Curtis Blue is my favorite color dope.  You can get complete coverage with one brushed on coat and it looks like you sprayed it. I also would be interested in knowing a 21st century equivalent.
