Title: 2K spray can clear life after activation.
Post by: Perry Rose on October 17, 2023, 07:03:57 AM
In mid May this year I activated a new can of 2K spray clear and sprayed a new plane. It didn't take all the paint, maybe 2/3 of the can. Not wanting to waste it and for a test I put it in the fridge. The digital thermometer in the fridge read 35 degrees. In early October this year I took it out and after it warmed up it sprayed like a new can. I put it back in the fridge and about 17 days later I tried it again and  it sprayed like wet Silly String. I think the warm up got the curing going and it's not usable now. Conclusion is the activated paint will last several months in the fridge but will cure beyond use if allowed to warm up used and cooled again.

OK, Perry, thanks.  According to the Eastwood website, their 2K clear has "unlimited pot life."  The components do not mix until you use the spray.  I wonder about this, how well the components will mix and activate properly.  I suppose I would have to get some and try it for myself.
