Ted Fancher's Imitation
« on: November 03, 2014, 03:02:55 PM »
In the process of finishing the IMITATION.  I had to wet sand the basecoat with 800 grit 3M paper to smooth the basecoat out.  It worked really well.  Will be shooting another coat of white and then start masking for the trim.  I love the looks of this airplane.  This is scratch built except for the ribs which were laser cut.

Portland Don did a full fuse version of the Imitation back in the 80s that was an awesome performer. Won a lot of contests with that ship. I have often thought of trying to duplicate that plane.

Hi Randy,

Brett also did that several years ago, and it was an excellent flier.  OS.40VF for power
I talked with him about it since I have a set of foam wings and tail.

I had to,put finishing the imitation on hold for a while.  I have been busy building these new Take Apart kits that Eric Rule has come out with.  Hope to get the Imitation finished next year.

Hi Bill

Unfortunately no.  I have just had other priorities and have not gotten back to it.  I hope to get it finished this spring.

Mike
