Author Topic: LAKE WALES CENTRAL FLORIDA C/L FUN-FLY HAPPENING THIS SATURDAY???? (Read 1712 times)

Don't forget this coming Saturday, May 5th, We are having our SECOND CENTRAL FLORIDA C/L FUN-FLY at the George Breen flying field on SR60E, 10 miles East of Lake Wales, Fl.

The fun starts at 10AM. Just show up, register(AMA required), and set your stuff up. As we did last year, we will have two grass circles cut and plenty of pit room.

Around noon we will be serving a hamburger or bratwurst, chips, and a drink for $5ea. We're also going to run a 50/50 to be drawn after lunch.

Show up and bring a buddy flyer or the whole family. We had a great time last year just ask some of those 20+ guys who participated. This is a chance to get together with your buddy flyers from both Florida coasts without having to drive too far.

For easy directions, the field is 10 miles EAST of the intersection of US27 and SR60, you can't miss it, it is adjacent to the westbound lane of SR60.

So that we can plan enough food, PLEASE let me know this week by email, pjcoopys@aol.com , if you plan to attend and how many persons you expect in your party.

Florida humidity "might" rejuvenate those "Northern applied glue" joints.

Still planning to be there.
I did not get to test fly the 1/2A Pathfinder last week.
Sounds like we might be able to do some First flight/flight trimming.
I'll bring it, see what happens. No promises on how it will fly but if it is as good as the last one I'll be happy.

Phil Coopy and his club hosted another great day!
Great facility, great food, great friendship "lotsa" Hangar Flying.
Even had some swap table goodies for sale.
This will be an easy habit to acquire.

As promised, Ward did bring the Stunt Wing, I brought the 1/2A P'finder, so it was a photo opportunity.
Weather was close to perfect.
Flying consisted of Stunt (aka PA),Clown Racers, solo slow Combat and 1/2A Combat flight demo's, Bi Slob.
Thanks again Phil and our thanks to your club members.
We will reciprocate, as before.

I watched Red fly the Stunt Wing at the Mirror meet, way back when. Always wanted to build one, still do, probably will. Have the plans in an envelope with a 1955 postmank

Roger, haven't you built that "Stuntwing" yet? Just make sure you have the balance point a little forward for first flights. I still have mine, but, it needs some work to get it going again. DOC Holliday

No, but I do have all the parts either cut out or laid out on the balsa.
You are not supposed to remember that I called you about building one, about 5 or 6 years ago.

Oh well, now everybody knows!
Too many "want to builds", too little time.
