Title: Youtube video. "Building Spruce Biplanes" 1918

This video popped up in my suggested watch list. Titiled "Building Spruce Biplanes". Everything from logging trees, to destructive testing of spars, rib stitching. Liberty engine, bubble testing tanks.

I'm thinking Curtiss Jenny factory, but the machine gun mount threw me off on that.

Silent film with weird music...

What are your guesses on what they are building?

It's a US built De Havilland DH-4 powered by a 12 cylinder Liberty engine.

My grandfather flew a DH4 in WWI combat missions.  Here he is in flight training.

I've done my share of building "spruce biplanes".  I discovered there is just enough room between the wing ribs for me to make a close inspection of my work.  There are four of these wings, because the plane is a Focke-wulf 44J "Steiglitz".
