The Aviators TV show on PBS had a show about smoke typers. who used computers to release the smoke at the right moment to write out words.
The old school was is still cooler with more talent.

We all stopped what we were doing and watched him.  He was so high, you could barely see the plane when the sun reflected off of it.

The last time I saw aerial smoke writing it said..."Beware Dorothy"
