Title: you and your covering
Post by: steve pagano on February 10, 2007, 11:49:20 AM
I was wondering what are some of the different coverings all you gents use and why? theres a few out there on the market.in my opinion the ideal covering would be something that goes on like monokote but after heat shrinking out all the wrinkles you apply coat of dope and have that beautiful silkspan buffed out look. Do they already have that?

Hey Steve,

Yes they do. It's actually something Tom Morris of "Stunt News" fame made popular among modelers by using it on his Cavaliers. Actually I had this same covering on both my Gold Cavalier II and my remake of my 1969 Sabre of 2 years ago (unfortunately no longer with us). This product is known as "Polyspan". Goes on with dope, shrinks with heat and then you can finish it with either dope or polyurethane (Better known as car paint).

Yours in STUNT,

"Champione"

Also, what's that dress-lining stuff that's supposed to do that?

HI Ray,

AFAIK, Polyspan is the *dress lining*.  Same stuff.  Also used to like coats/jackets.  Ultralite Rayon I believe.
