Hi Robert,
Thank you again for providing us with this extremely useful CL forum! :-)
I am sorry to hear of your Mothers illness. My prayers go with you.
I am sending you another small donation. I know that "every little bit helps" but could you please give us an idea of what is the average donation? This would help us know what to give as our fair share? $20, $50, $100? or$?

I'm sure you have thought of many ways to run your raffle but FWIW here is my take on the monthly drawings: ..... given the large shipping costs (and the trouble it must be for you?) is there a chance to just make arrangements with the supplier (RSM, etc.) for a gift cert. for X$ and let the winner pick his plane and handle the shipping arrangements? Or have the drawing every quarter? IMHO one big drawing each year would be more than enough.
These last two would fit nicely into the budget you seem to be working with now, and maybe in 2008 too? The once a year BIG drawing would allow you to always operate within your budget by using whatever $ were left over near the end of the year to buy the BIG annual drawing prize.
Your Forum is so beneficial to us all that it does not need any drawing to keep us happy! :-) But if you feel a drawing is needed, then one "Full set up" (plane, super eng/pipe etc.) drawing per year would be nice to look forward to, but any more than that does not seem to give us the "bang for the buck" that the expense costs you.
If your purpose for these drawings is to make your forum feel more like one very large National/International CL Club, that is a noble cause. But if that is the case then why don't you run it like a club drawing. For ex: for each $12 donated per year the member gets one drawing ticket per month in the drawing, $24= 2per mo etc. .... Or if you go with only one drawing per year, then $12 gets you one ticket for the ONE drawing per year for the big prize, $24 gets you 2 tickets, etc. Only people buying tickets get into the drawing. This way you would see exactly how many people are really here for the drawing and you would see if the interest covers the expense. This would also encourage more people to make donations, just like we do at our monthly club meeting drawings.
I would much rather see you not do any drawings but have an annual budget that covers your expenses and has at least $1,000 go to you to be used to cover some of your labor that we all benefit from. IMHO: I think most people would still continue to donate each year to keep this excellent CL forum going.
I realize that you have thought of all this from every angle, I just hate to see you work so hard for so little return. But I am VERY glad you do!

I definitely patronize your Forum sponsors, and will continue to do so in the future. They are a very good group with quality CL products. :-)
Thanks again for your excellent forum. It has been a great help to my "Reentry" into CLPA :-)
Regards,
