I'd just like to say something nice about Ebay.
This morning I got a package in the mail, a brand new (never been mounted, never been run) in the box OS .15 LA-S.
The seller included the following in unopened packages; Aluminum back plate, Needle valve assembly, two glow plugs, spinner nut and a Master Airscrew prop.......... all this for 51 bucks and $6.00 shipping!
Now I have a reliable engine for my Ringmaster Jr. :D Has anyone flown this combination and if so, any suggestions?

I never had the OS LA .15 but did have the FP .15 which is perhaps a bit stronger engine than the LA. We flew our FP on my son's Streak Trainer and later on a U-Key 15 - it did very, very well on both.
Which fuel will you be using? I'd avoid an all-synthetic oil content since even the smallish bushing engines need lots of lube. The metallurgy and piston/liner fit is much better than my old Fox .15 slant plug engine I flew on a similar sized Jr. Flite Streak. It was that combination which taught me (successfully) inverted flight.
Start off with an 8-4 prop and Sig Champion (or similar) fuel with 20% castor. On the nickel engines such as the LA series, you could also use the Sig Champion with 50/50 castor/synthetic.

Steve,
I plan on using the fuel I use in my bigger LAs. Power Master 10-22 (10% nitro, 22% 50/50 castor/ synthetic) seems to work pretty well. Thanks for the prop size recommendation.

GG, You will be nothing but happy with the combination you have chosen. With a nice wood [well balanced] prop you should have fun with smooth running, economical, and exciting times. Way to go ! I have a couple of the LA and FP 15's that out perform my older engines of other brands. You can't say enough good about them.......

I don't fly CL with one, but I do have one for RC Combat. Durable, just runs,
I run Omega 15% in mine, 17,000 RPM on an 8-3 Master Airscrew. A bit much for stnut. :)
We use a different break in. Cut a prop down by 2 inches from what you run. Run about 4 x 30 second runs at about 90% max RPM, letting cool cmplete;y between runs. Then 2 x 2 minute runsw, pinching the fuel liner to lean every 30 seconds.
Bolt on flying prop and go fly.
