Xoar and Vess Props

At my LHS I recently came across Xoar beech wood props.  They are very nicely made and finished.  The 11x4 that I purchased to try is nearly perfectly balanced right out of the package.  Although their website says that the props were designed using criteria suitable for R/C use, has anyone tried them for stunt?  Once the pond that is right now my flying circle dries up I plan to experiment with the Xoar and a bunch of other props but I would appreciate any comments or suggestions that you might have.

In his column in the latest Flying Models Allen Brickhaus discussed Vess Props.  Has anyone tried these?  What are your thoughts about them?

I've used the Xoar props a couple of time. Nice units. Never heard of Vess, though.

After seeing the same write up about the Vess props, I decided to check them out at their website.  Ended up ordering 3 of them.  They are also beechwood,  and very nice finish.  I put a 13-6 on my pitch guage and it ranges from 5.7 ~ 5.9 over the working range.  Have not flown with it yet, but it looks like a quality prop.  Blade shape is similar to APC or the Master Airscrew S2 series

I have used Xoar props and found them to be quite good.  The only problem I had was I could only find them at the AMA convention once a year. The hobby shops I normally use are stocking mostly electric props and a few IC props and neither of them have heard of Xoar.  Lately I have been using RSM props, I know Eric Rule at RSM and I see him every month so it much easier for me to get props that are made for us at a reasonable price.

I bought a Vess 11-4. I was too lazy to set up the balancer to check it, so I bench ran it on my Brodak 40. Very smooth. Then I bolted it to the OS S35 on my Noblarf, so the next time the weather is good enough to fly, I'll see how it flies.
