...wrinkles??
« on: March 27, 2013, 03:25:36 PM »

I am using poly span for covering on a lot of models, and it has wrinkles in it as it comes off the tube.
Does anyone have suggestions as to how to remove the wrinkles?
I can't iron the span as this will shrink it, so please let the suggestions fly...

      Thanks,

Gil,

I would just apply it while stretching out as much of the wrinkles as I could.  The heat shrinking should remove any wrinkles left.

Bob:  If using Japanese tissue, once it's adhered, give it a light misting of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to shrink it.  Then dust on a few coats of hair spray (Aqua Net is preferred) or Krylon crystal clear.  Works well of rubber-powered Free Flights.

Yep, just pull any wrinkles as snug as you can while attaching the covering and you can shrink them out later when you apply the heat. You should be pulling the covering nice and snug as you attach it anyway, you don't want to count on the heat to do all the work. y1
