Title: Wow. My 1991 Skylark returns home
Post by: kevin king on March 28, 2021, 11:24:04 AM
I had an expected surprise this Saturday. At 930am  at least 20 years after I sold it, My Ed Southwick scratch built Skylark arrived at my doorstep. Thank you Derek, I really, really appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness. Kevin King.

Cool story, the finish reminds me of the Zap Machine.  y1

Steve Buso and his Zap Machine WERE the inspiration for the paint Scheme. His plans are works of art as are his airplane designs and paint work. The videos I had of Windy interviewing him at the 1992 Nats with that plane were awesome. Steve described the plane in detail, including the paint, where he stated the topcoat was 'DAU 82" a 2part clear by PPG, which I also used to topcoat the Skylark with. Windy's last comment at the end was "Well, good luck in the Concours, that's all I have to say". Sure enough he won! 😃

Also, the ST 51 video I uploaded to YouTube has the photos of this plane in the finishing stage. I didn't even realise it was even on that tape.
