Title: WOW! PAMPERS' OFFERING NEWBEE MEMBERSHIP FOR HALF PRICE??? REALLY
Post by: Shultzie on November 18, 2010, 09:54:07 PM
NEWS FLASH!!!! U HEARD IT HERE...NOT FIRST BUT SECOND?
It would appear that PAMPA has now fallen on the COMCAST PROVIDERS ADVERTISING CONCEPT BY OFFERING NEW MEMBERSHIPS AT HALF PRICE!!!!

However is their a hidden claus=cause that perhaps....after 6 months that new  membership might just price will triple in cost from that point forward to $100 OR MORE?

OK! BAD ATTEMPT AT SATIRE...I SHOULD HAVE SAID "HUGGIES"
GOOD IDEA...LET GIVE US ALL A "GROUPIE HUGG, CHILL N' TAKE A PILL AND MOVE FORWARD WITH A GOOD PLAN TO BRING MORE FOLKS TO THE FOLD AGAIN.(even old kite-kooter)

Seriously...lets just think a moment or minute or two about the plan. No joke...I think COMCAST MARKETING JUST MIGHT APPLY FOR OUR PAMPA PARTNERS...FOR EXAMPLE!
I WOULD HAVE EVEN SUGGESTED THAT PAMPA give to brand new members a 6 month online plan at even say $5.00 or $10.00 and I would bet my broken Chipmunk and my friend Walkers IMPACT KIT that one ANY NEWBEE CLPA JUNKIE WORTH HIS ADDICTION who see just how important, beautifully written and illustrated PAMPERS publications are...99% WOULD GLADLY PAY THE FULL PRICE FEE-FIII-FOE-FUMMMM IN A HEART BEAT AFTER THE 6 MONTH TEST RIDE IS OVER?

When I saw the word PAMPERS, I wondered what you were talking about? PAMPERS in this country (England) are disposable nappies (diapers) for your new born!  LL~

I was wondering if it was intentional satire or if someone fell victim to a spell checker.

I applaud the PAMPA-ettes for trying something that resembles marketing.....
I believe that there are several codicils with the offer, and it should add some sorely needed numbers to the ranks...

As always, I don't believe that PAMPA should be "marketed". It's a service organization, a service to those who wish to avail themselves of it. As long as PAMPA provides a worthwhile value for the money, people will come to it. Or not.

PAMPA should not be marketed. They should drop the printed Stunt News magazine, and offer
only the electronic version - for half price to any and all (including non-members). That would
immediately provide a financial boost to PAMPA and would promote the organization more widely.

That might assist in some areas, but would certainly disenfranchise a lot of the current members, many of whom definitely still want the magazine, and are not interested in the electronic versions.

I sense mixed feelings about PAMPA.S?P  I was a charter member in 1973 and stayed for a couple of years, letting that and my AMA membership expire in 1976 due to life changes.

I re-upped in 2009 with both PAMPA and AMA and was fortunate to get my AMA number back.  I'm a happy guy.

As far as the PAMPA magazine, I opted for on-line as a cost saving method, but the next renewal will probably be at the higher rate for the printed magazine.  Too hard to drag the computer into the bathroom... ;)

Larry,

I agree PAMPA shouldn't be marketed but disagree that the printed magazine shoud be dropped.  A couple of years ago I subscribed for just the CD version and read very little.  Maybe I'm old school but I like the printed copy.

Title: WOW! PAMPA OFFERING GIFT MEMBERSHIPS FOR HALF PRICE
Post by: Steve Helmick on November 20, 2010, 09:36:02 PM
It was my impression that the half price rate was so a current member could buy a membership for a non-member, and that was all.

It's not evil, like ComCast and various online membership deals, where you are not told what the price is after the intro period. And your credit/debit account will be billed until you tell them to stop....and there's no info given on how to contact them to do that.  D>K Steve
