Title: Would anyone be interested in a Junar XL kit?
Post by: Chris_Rud on October 08, 2018, 07:40:59 PM
Hi All,

Would anyone be interested in a Junar XL kit? Pat King and I laid out the plane in CAD to help build Samantha's WC plane. I have been super busy since then but things are starting to slow down so I wanted to know if anyone is interested in the kit before I finish it up. If no one is interested then whats is the point.  ;D Its the same airplane I flew at the worlds this year.

Also, I still have the molds for Bill Werwage p-47 so if anyone is interested in that plane let me know also. Its way easier and faster then making your own set of molds.

-Chris

As a kit, would the provisions be there for
1) electric power
2) take apart model?

Hi All,

Thanks for all the replies. A few people have private messaged me so I thought I would share the information they requested.

Its more like a Geo XL that looks like a Junar. Its bigger then the original Junar and has slightly thicker wing tips. Its the Geo XL wing. The stab is not inline like the Geo XL but is the larger stab 29". The fuse is also wider to fit a PA 75. I will be molding the fuse shells. I'm not sure about the cost but will probably be between $250 and $299 depending on the laser cut expense.

Its currently only has IC but we could easily make a electric version.

Take apart?

It isn't currently. But I have had a few people ask. Would you be interested in a take apart or one piece?

Chris:

What was the plane you flew at Brodaks?  Are there plans for that?

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, the two planes (Junar XL and the Tempest) are nearly identical. They have the exact same wing stab and moments the fuse and wing are just styled differently. Maybe someday I will do a tempest kit.

The fuse is also wider to fit a PA 75.

Would it still be OK for a PA 61 or Ro-Jett 61?

Yes either would work just fine. The first one I built started with a PA 61.

Thanks! I didn’t think it’d make a difference, but wanted to be sure.

Chris,

Have you gathered enough information to decide if you will make a Junar kit?

"I definitely want to but I'm just a little busy right now. I do plan to do it next season so I will keep you posted."
