high winds but still got more than 50 flights Sunday from our group. Even had some visitors with kids that we got flying our trainer. Some planes not pictured, they arrived after I took photo's.

the IRKS Brevard model club Ringmaster fly in drue 6 flyers ,one had a 2.4 throttle .he would do 10 aps ,stop and do 10 more .I had to leave so don't know how many take off's he did I got to fly 4 diff ringmaster's

this has to be one of the best grass flying fields in the country .no trees ,buildings for a 1/4 mile on all sides and no one to fly there

Brunswick Area Modelers in Topsham Maine. 3 flyers with 6 Ringmasters. Windy and cool. 30 flights with one crash due to wind. One electric, 3 Foxes, one Stallion and one Greenhead.

Flew yesterday and got 90 flights with 5 ringmasters. From 15 to 50 powered birds.
Myself, Steve Hines, and Pat Imhoff..
Too windy today or we would have done a lot more.

Flying at Whittier Narrows, the Knights of the Round Circle put in 16 flights.

Flying at the Sepulveda Basin, the Valley Circle Burners added another 6 flights to the Los Angeles area total.

5 different models were used.

Hello Here in Auckland New Zealand we had 10 Ringmasters and 10 pilots at two fields with a total of 30 flights over the weekend. The number of flights was not that high but we still had a lot of fun. Saturday was largely taken up with the 1st round of our local stunt contest .

I only put up 5 flights, but it was a little cool, light varying breeze AND a bunch of people going by constantly. Flew in my front yard and across the street is a Fun Farm with big ole pumpkin patch where they were picking pumpkins, riding too and from in hayrack wagons down the street AND slowing down while I was in the air I was only out for a while. But it's only fair, we spent part of the day watching them pick pumpkins.

Guess the old DOC is getting old. Spent the week getting planes ready and charging the starting battery plus checking fuel. By the time I got up Saturday it was windy and rain . By the time the rain stopped no vehicle as the wife went to work. Sunday was Church and rainy here then BBQ feed with family where Grand daughter Heather is now working(Zarda's). Could not get any volunteers to go help so I just called it quits. I'm getting more grumpy also.

I set up the Brokak Ringmaster Of Steve Hines with a transmiter and that allows a bunch of 6/7 lap flights. Take off land fly another 6 or 7 laps and so on.
We used about 6 batts and got over 50 flights just with the electric bird.

I got in just six flights with the 576 Ringmaster, was trying a 50 Snorer motor that turns out runs quite well. I took off the roJett 50 as it was at Dubs for a rebuild.

Don't worry Doc. The official Ringmaster Flyathon rules have a rain/wind date Oct 12/13 .

re. The IRKS Ringmaster event -
Winds light in morning and very high and gusty in afternoon, had to stop flying after lunch.
We had (6) pilots, [ (6) Ringmasters S-1's, (2) RM207's and (1) Super Ringmaster]
Totaal flights = 61 due to stopping early/winds.

It was good to get out there after cancelling for the last two years due to hurricanes and flooding.

We did 50 flights for the flyathon at arvada colorado. We had a new person show up and fly and I did 26 flights. I had fun flying 2 ringmasters for the flights. They areboth too heavy for competitve ots but they are fun to sport fly and flyathon fly. I am flying them with la .40 engines as they are over 30 ozs. We are flying at almost 6000' altitude so a 26 oz ringmaster is mandatory to fly a nice pattern. I will be building a new ringmaster soon that will be lighter with la .25 soon. I don't think my heavy ringmasters will do thevertical 8? That is okay as I am having fun without fly ots with these planes. We had fun flyathon forever!

So... The Ringmaster flames have been re-kindled. Sometime back I reconnected with a kid (50 something now) that I flew with back in the 1970's. (Thanks Face Book...maybe your not so bad after all) He was busy getting a Ringmaster together for the Fly-a-thon, and it sort of fanned the flames of a Ringmaster build I should do. Back in the day in question my brother and I buit a Ring but did a few cosmetic mods to it to make it different. Reworked the canopy shape. Reworked the vert stab and rudder to a more modern Cessna design if you will. Alum. landing gear before it was popular (I think?). Added a rounded cheek cowl to give it a midget racer look. Everything else stayed Ringmaster. The question...was it a Ringmaster in keeping with the flavor of the Fly-a-thon or not? Why do I ask? I had planned to re-create that airplane to pay homage to the past. But then I started thinking again (always a bad thing)...hmm...maybe take it to a Mooney 201 kinda place. I always liked that raked forward vert stab/rudder of the Mooney. I'll ask the question again. Would that semi kit bashed version of the Ringmast Sr. model be Fly-a-thon legal if there is a legal non-legal sort of rule to follow?

Thanks for the reply Ty. Yes I remember the Uncle Sam plane but did not remember it was Ringmaster based. Maybe I’ll build two, one with and one without mods.

Tony, you need to get on the Brotherhood of the Ringmaster forum. You will find many variants on the basic S-1 Ringmaster, even twins.
