World Championship Postponed

From the MACA Site. Looks like all F2 World Championships postponed until 2021.     SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION AUTHORIZED BY S/C F2 CHAIRMAN:
The 2020 F2 WChs is postponed to 2021 due the COVID-19 situation in accordance of the negotianion between the organising body and CIAM. Datum will be definied later during this year. For Juniors whom exceeds the age limit next year but they are within in 2020 they may participate as juniors in next year.

This is a question maybe for the AMA and/or PAMPA.  Will there be a new Team Trials and a new team?  The answer may be that unless any of the current team and/or alternates back out, the current team will go forward, only with a year delay.

My own thought is that we selected a team for the 2020 Worlds-delayed but not forget.  We WILL still have a Team Trials for the 2022 team next year.  Now should the Worlds be delayed or called through 2021 then we might need to rethink it.  Let's hope we get a vaccine by then and not have to worry about it.

To elaborate, we've invested in preparing for the contest.  For example, rather than pursuing interesting new airplane technology, I've been duplicating what I know works, although I'm improving the take-apart system so I can fit the new plane into a shoebox and assemble it a lot faster.  We've also bought tickets and reserved cars.  We might be able to get refunds, but it's easier to reschedule existing flights and reservations.

I am sure the 2020 2021 is set. What about 2022? Is it going to go back to even years, if so, there should probably be some sort of selection.

My guess is that the 2020 World Champs and the 2021 Eurochamps will be together and the world champs will stay in the even years.  The US seems to be a bit unique in how early we pick our team which will make next year a bit hectic for some.  We'll just have to wait and see.
