Our APS38 radars went through a ton of fallopian tubes when we were out to sea!  Lost more than one apprentice to the stock room trying to find those.

I can see why. For the low number of output stages on the amp, they had to push those tubes pretty hard. Probably created a grid heater issue. With the endurance of the Tracker and the mission profiles, they were going to be maintenance hogs.

But what is scary is if you go into a fancy restaurant in Britain and ask for spotted dick, they come right out with it....
I have a can of it in my pantry.

Whoaaa Dave - how many hours do you have laying painfully over the radar in the hell hole?!  Looks like way plenty for you.  (Bringing back many memories.)  Still loved the Trackers, though, got a 1/2A profile framed up as I type.

One of the most hysterical comedians I ever saw said he reads a lot of local newspapers on his travels. One birth announcement was for a baby girl, named "Fallopia". He reckoned that was like a Greek couple naming their new baby boy "Testiclese". I about died laughing.  LL~ Steve
