It looks like an amazing deal - is this of as high quality as it looks?

I like mine, it is geting to hard to work on a desk that I allways used. This is at the right height. I had to sand the top flat, but it did not take that long. It was just the outside edge. I think in the AMA mag it is only $139 this month.

Brett it is over a inch thick top with two inch sides edge. The vice is nice I used it 2 times now for foam wings. No more taping the center and weighting it down.

Hi Brett,
I have had mine for about a year, now; I was impressed with the quality overall and the fit & finish. The drawers come pre-lined with black felt & work very nicely. Luckily I found this just as I was getting ready to buy the materials to build a new bench...for the money & labor there was no way I could build one as nice.

I bought one last year and I had a coupon and bought it on sale for around $108.
I love it. I put it on 2X4 risers with casters, so I can roll it around as needed and it is a more comfortable height.
The 1" thick top is deceiving. It is only that thick at the edges. Look underneath and you will see that. I put a glass top on mine, leveled with playing cards. If I had room, I would buy another one. You cannot build a bench like this from scratch for that money.

OK then ! Sounds like a winner. Now I just have to find a discount coupon and hopefully I can grab one of these this week end. Thanks to all for your helpful comments. I appreciate it. :) They show what looks like the same unit with two different part numbers. Anyone know what the difference is between the two ?

I looked at both units, the one you have linked to is 2' longer and about 1" wider than the other.

I don't think 2 ft. longer ! They are both 60" or 5 ft. long. I see an 1/8" difference in the width. And a 1/2" difference in height. Seems silly really. :)

I contacted their Customer Service and they said that the top was oak, laid up in strips and then planed. Looks great. BTW, The Sunday magazine in your newspaper usually has the $139 coupon.
-
Thanks Guy. I'll see if I can pick one up Saturday. :)

Most Harbor Freight stores have stacks of their sales flyers/brochures up front. Pick one up and save some money if you don't already have a coupon.
-
Thanks for posting the info on these.
I have been eyeing and wanting one for a while now. Maybe next month.
Building on a card table kind of sucks.

If you sign up with Harbor Freight on their website you will get a bunch of E-mails with coupons that are a great deal. If you are willing to put up with the E-mails every week or more and use the coupons it worth the effort.
