MACCHI C 202 FOLGORE WW2 ITALIAN FIGHTER
« on: July 12, 2011, 08:21:22 AM »
Hello,

I built this model in the early 70's as a profile from plans I believe were in flying models mag. This plane was a .19 size stunter.
At the time, I ran it with a fox .19.

Anyone have plans or an article on this plane?

Thanks!

-Danny

Yes the usual question,  Have you tried Flying Models.  Go no line and check the plan listing.  I would do it, but am extra lazy this AM. H^^

The only Macchi 202 published that i have a record of was by D.Duval in FM10/74.
 Has a 58 in W/S and is for 40/51 sized engines. Plan # CF347 at $8.00 a copy.

I am pretty sure it was in Model Aviation, but I could be wrong.

I have spent the past couple months going through all my magazines and pulling out the ones with Stunt Models in them.  I then affixed a folder label on the cover with the article and page number.  If I run across the magazine soon, I will post it here.  Definitely a .15-.19 size model.  It might have even been Model Airplane News. (still thinking MA or American Modeler, American Aircraft Modeler).

I'm sure Daniel wants to relive some memories...but it wouldn't be too tough to bash a profile P-40 kit into a Macchi 202. Bigger planes do fly better, and lots of folks have good things to say about Pat's P-40.  y1 Steve

Only one I ever saw is in my Rand McNally Military Aircraft Encyclopedia 1914 to 1980[Enzo Angelucci]. There's a photo of a fully camo C202 and a 3 view blue print plate. You want me to scan it? H^^

Wynn,

I believe thats the one! Do you have the full article with plan?

Steve,

Your absolutely right. I want to relive old memories. I also have a B-15 I want to put on it...This is for my son before he graduates to bigger planes.

John,

Thanks fot the offer! I already have a similar book from the Smithonian Institute in Washington. They have a Macchi hanging there!

It's on page 5 #161  , But you should e-mail a message on what wingspan you would like on your plans.
Gabriel is a real nice guy he has sent me plans for free but he wants you to send him plans back he dont
have.  I would just pay him for the plans it's easyer that way.  He lives in Italy so your plans will take a
while to get to you.  You should order a few plans from him scense he is so far away.  Hope this helps.

Plans for CL stunt versions of the Macchi C-202 have appeared several times in the magazines.

Flying Models, Oct 74, page 32.  Constructin article by Dennis Duvall.  Nicely proportioned model with an ST .46.

American Aircraft Modeler, Mar 73, page 24.  Construction article by Scott A Gonradson.  Profile for .15 to .25 engines.

I cannot find any listings showing availability of either of these plans.

The one Wynn posted and Keith speaks of (Conradson) is the magazine I have.  Interesting little flapped profile stunter!

Flying Models plan #CF 347  Macchi 202 58" span, .40-.51 engines, by Dennis Duvall.  FM 10-74  $8.00.  Ordered one two weeks ago, received it
last week...great looking stunter!  By the way, Flying Models seems to have resolved all their plans delivery issues.  Did I say this is a great looking
stunter?!

Hi Bill,

Has FM listed there C/L plans anywhere?  Last time I looked, they only had a handful listed on their site. ???

Thanks!

Hi, Bill, no, the control line plans full catalog isn't finished yet...I have a copy of the old Flying Plans Catalog #4 from about 1999. FM will
EVENTUALLY get all the c/l plans listed in a catalog that we can download from the website.  How about plan # CF 186, Ryan PT-20, from FM 3/70.
Sweet looking stunter by Amilcare DiMezza?  Be the first on your field to have one of these!

Hi Bill,

Tempting, but we still have to build a PT-19 since Papa Dave is a great friend and helped Aaron so much.  I have a set of Curt Contrada's CAD drawings for that one and PaPa Dave to get info from. ;D

There still are a few Sheek's plans from FM I don't have, I think.........

A Nostalgia 30 plane from Jimmy Casale (if there is a ST .60 one!) is on the list of "wants"! LOL!!

Geez.... Time Wave, P-51C, KA 10, P-47D, Genesis .46, another USA-1, Sheek's Demon, Adamisin Typhoon, Yatsenko plane, Smith Classic, Macaluso F-8 (Crusader II/SV 11), Rabe Classic Mustang, Nakke, Grondal AMA Special, Stiletto 660, Yak 9, Werwage Geo Bolt, ............. not enough time! LOL!!
