Winter Flying Site Needed

All,

Reaching the point personally and professionally where I can start devoting a lot more time to my flying. I'd like to start competing again after a long time away. My biggest issue is that I live up here in the frozen north in the New York Finger Lakes region. We get about 100" of snow each season here, so not a lot of flying even if you can stand the cold.

I was wondering if any of you southern flyers on the east coast or Central US would be so kind as to let me come down and practice. Ideally, I'd like to spend about a week and get 50 to 100 flights in to sharpen up. Just fly until it's back to where it needs to be.

Any help will be appreciated.

I fly at South Park in Denham Springs, La and sometimes at Doyles Bayou park in Zachary, La. You're welcome there anytime. Look the parks up on Google earth. If you're a camper South Park has a KOA camp ground next to it and eight hotels within a mile. $2.01.9 for gas right now.

If you want to wander down to Dayton from time to time, we typically have little snow, it just gets brutally cold.  Wouldn't be a huge deal to move the couple inches of snow we do get off the circle to make donuts.  Or bring stuff that can belly land if you don't mind not practicing the takeoff and landing portion.

The Manatee County Radio Controllers are a great bunch, with a terrific control line circle...a week would be fine, I'm sure. There is a provision for temporary memberships at $30 per month (AMA required).

   Well, if you're serious and only if you're serious and don't mind a bit of a drive ... you're welcome to fly with our little group here in Titusville FL!  We fly nearly every weekend that the Good Lord allows.  And we have only one rule:  Bring your sense of humor with ya' and take nothing serious!

If you don't mind the cold, the Middlesex NJ field is always available after 11 AM. As long as it is not actively raining or snowing, the domed circle dries instantly. There are a bunch of retirees that get together at least once a week, all year long. Not warm, but a lot shorter drive than the South East.

We fly year round in Huntsville Alabama on paved circles.  Several of us are retired and can pit for you 7 days a week.  Here the problem is some cold, some wet, and some windy days.  However we get some great days year round.   And snow is rare!

I have my own airport in South Carolina, identifier SC 41.
My circle is right across the taxiway from my house.
There is room for around 30 circles.
Sadly, I have nobody to fly with.
I'm only 2 miles off I-95, exit 115.
If you're in the area (35 miles south of Florence, SC), drop in and we can fly.
