Merry Christmas all, but winter sure puts things on hold. The Crow is sitting here in black and gold leaf ready for clear, and the Boss 529 is all in white ready for trim. But no more spraying until spring...
Sure would be nice to be able to finish some projects.

At least you don't have to shovel rain.
-
Geez Chuck....were you expecting something else?
-
Hey, see if a local body repair shop may have an empty paint booth for a day or two.
-
Expecting the first big snowstorm on Thursday. 10-15 inches of the stuff.....
-
Yea, view from my deck today.

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've brought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow

Sheesz Chuck, you complaining or BRAGGING??? Heard your temps will be in the mid 60's make sure you LAYER-UP when you head to the flying field!
Here in Hooooosierland we got 20-30MPH winds, 30deg and a full fledged blizzard in progress. A white day-after-Christmas if you will!
-
White Christmas is not too common in our area. Blue Ridge is about 40 miles north of Dallas. The day started with thunder storms and ended with this. (About 3" total.)

And I'll bet your dog is named Phideaux! LL~ LL~ LL~
We're in the middle of that same blizzard Denny spoke about. Thanks for sending it to us, D.A.!! (NOT!)

We are getting it too. About 1-2 inches an hour, they are predicting 12 to 15 inches by 7:00 pm tonight. There's about 6 inches on the ground and a 3 foot drift across the diveway. I started to go out and clean the driveway, but with the 35 mph blowing snow, whats the use. Old movies with Jan and some time in the model room that's my plans for the next couple of days.
Stay warm D>K and safe to all effected by this storm, "this too will pass".
Blessings

Its Winter in Ohio and the gentle breezes blow,
Seventy miles an hour at twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Ohio, when the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter,
and your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful.
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Ohio
'cause I'm frozen to the ground.

After seeing the report on the internet. I hope all our modelling family is safe and sound so we can start a new year.

Turns out Indy & Muncie got blasted - but left Ft Wayne mostly unscathed. I guess sending it Will's way WORKED (no charge, my friend!)
-
Truth be told, Denny, the fizzle out hit here, too. Maybe an inch. It all came at once right after your post, then you must have felt sorry for me! Thanks.

After many days of rain and snow and wind, we got a couple of blue hole today and few moments of sun. It was kinda cool.

I'm not exactly sure of Randy's weather forcast, but. Tommorrow I'll be at the Salem field ready to fly and maybe on Sunday too. Get out when you can.
Happy Holidays.

Well this old body says it is too cold. Also the demented poodle says it is too cold.
-
If it's too clod for Doc, it's too cold for me! Three inches of white fluffy overnight - finally had to stoop to firing up the snow blower.

Some shots from my mancave window yesterday...Not too bad. We've only got about 15" so far, but it's still coming down. The nototious "Lake Effect" gives us an average of 110" per year.
Chuck, where in south Fla are you? I'm putting a fishing trip together and may be passing through your area in Feb. Maybe I can squeeze a plane in the Baron and make it double-activity trip!
Visitors out back in my flying circle.

I wonder if that is Dancer, Prancer, Vixen or Blitzen... @@^

Wow!....I see you are "deep" into building season........ reminds me of a few winters I spent in Toronto as a kid. Well today I put in six flights, some sun, very brisk, but no wind with temp at 42. Will try again tommorrow.

Ditto the flying here in the Willamette Valley yesterday. At the park yesterday I put in a number of flights on my Ringmaster (I'm practicing the pattern on it. Why? I dunno, except I may enter a contest or two with it this year just to see how it scores in appearance judging). Temperatures were in the high 30's, we clouds high enough that we weren't worried about stuff falling from them, and thick enough that the sun was never getting in our eyes.
We'll get rotten weather sooner or later, though -- in this part of the world we get rain and high winds in the winter, sometimes for weeks at a stretch. Every ten years or so the temperature will even drop into the low twenties or the teens for several days, at which point (laugh you midwesterners, laugh! 'cause that's twenties above zero, not below!) everyones' pipes freeze up and burst where the insulation is thin.

This weekend it was cold (high 30s), wet and very humid. Felt like about 10 degrees. Glad the shop is heated.
-
Snowing this AM and haven't looked at temps, but it seems the snow is sticking. I too am glad i finally got the gas heater in the shop. The dogs love it even more. I try to keep shop between 65-70 degrees F.

Skiing in the morning.
Building in the afternoon.
New Year's party tonight.

Well, we're still flying here in Tucson but it's DANG cold. Temps in the high 40's to low 50's. Had to drag out the coat and long johns.
Not too many at the flying field yesterday just the hard core and only a couple of guys actually flew. Chip Hyde must have flown 25 or so flights. Look out guys, It'll be a little while but he's coming!
The other serious commer here seems to be John Callentine and he also flew a bunch. Us old men mostly just watched kibitzed and shivered!
Southwest CL Regionals here in about three weeks.
