Wing Jig Attachment for Fuselage Jig
« on: April 23, 2010, 04:21:28 PM »
I had posted a reply on one of the other topics about having a wing jig attachment for the fuselage jig produced by George Hamby and sold by Tom Niebuhr.  I received some inquiries about the wing jig, so I am posting some photos of the wing jig attachment.

I have also included a photo of the Brodak Zero that I am building and currently have in the first coat of silver.  I built the wing using the wing jig attachment.  It was the easiest wing that I have every built.  It came out perfectly straight.

I bought the fuselage jig from Tom Niebuhr a number of years ago.  I bought the wing jig attachment directly from George Hamby.  The fixture is so beautiful that I'm almost afraid to use it for building.  I do cover the base of the jig with wax paper when I am building to protect it.  The jig is very well constructed and will be around to be used long after I'm gone.

That is one beautiful set up.  I am not going ask how much gets for one of those(fuse and wing jig together).  Probably don't have enough in the savings. The Zero is looking good too. H^^

Tom Niebuhr (www.blueskymodels.net) sells the fuselage jig for $165 plus shipping and handling. I received mine from Tom at the Dallas Labor Day contest one year so I didn't have to pay the shipping and handling. I have no idea how much that would be.

The wing jig attachments were $75.  George Hamby was actually apologizing for the cost, but I pointed out that I planned to use it for 40 or 50 years and then pass it on to another generation of modelers.  By that time, $75 will probably be the price of cup of coffee (at Starbucks, anyway).

I included a photo of the jig with the fuselage fixtures attached.  I took it directly from the Blue Sky Models web site.
