Title: Windy City Classic Contest
Post by: Crist Rigotti on May 26, 2014, 07:34:10 AM
A big thanks goes Mike Schmitt and the Chicagoland Circle Cutters for a great contest.  The weather was near perfect.  75- 80 degrees and near clam to 5 mph winds.  The circles were cut beautifully and the attendance was up from previous years.  Here are some pics of the contest.  The plaques were hand made and featured a picture of an eagle that Mike took himself.  Mike is a very accomplished photographer too.  Oh, Chris Rud is back to competing.  He showed up at the Polk City contest and then again here.  Both wins for him.  Welcome back Chris....sorta!  ;)

Sounds like a blast. I don't see Mike S's or Dennis V's name on the score sheets, the local club guys must not compete? Any more photos? #^

Mike was the CD and Dennis had triple by-pass surgery earlier in the week.  Both are doing fine!  Dennis usually judges too.

Many Thanks to all the Chicagoland Circle Cutters who pulled together as a group and made the day a success!. For those who prepared the field, Judged, fired up the grills prepared tasty dishes and ran score sheets, tabulated and supported this event. Thanks to all 23 contestants who traveled from Florida, Iowa, Wisconsin and of course Illinois. We had a beautiful day, its so nice to see the control line community come together and share in the sport we all love so much. We missed Allen Brickhaus who made the drive the past 9 years to attend our event. And I'm very pleased to say our buddy Dennis Vander Kurr is out of the hospital and resting at home. It would be impossible to put on this event with out your help and support. Thank you!
